If
the British National Party, the English Defence League and the entire ragbag of extreme-right wing nationalist politics in
Britain were truly Christian, that is to say, practiced Christian values, they
would not behave the way they do, and say the things they say. They would not preach hatred towards another religion.“We’re
defending Christian values from Muslim domination”, is their proclaimed entire raison d’être,
their sole purpose in terms of British racial nationalist politics. They latched onto a phenomenon that was to find expression
in the terrible massacres at Srebrenica when Bosnian Serb ultra-nationalists murdered 7,500 innocent men and boys in cold
blood. Torture, mass murder of civilians, rape and looting were commonplace in this war. They slaughtered them simply and
solely because they were Muslims. Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic and his fellow Serb nationalists used the lie of Islamic
persecution as a veil behind which to push their expansionist dream of a Greater Serbia. Ratko Mladic, the commander of the
Serb forces in Bosnia. has now been arrested for these war crimes after over a decade in hiding. This is what eventually occurs
when you mix mad nationalistic politics with religion ... or, to be more accurate, when religion is used
as a pretext for exacting revenge based on ancient historical myth.We had it in Northern Ireland for so many decades that
I have lost count. I can say as a former member of the Orange Order in the 1970s that sectarianism is a curse and a blot on
the history of both Ireland and Britain. The result could only be the demonising of each side by the other, a misbegotten
belief that the other side is an inferior form of human life that will never get past St Peter but will burn in hell for eternity.
As a taster, both sides have engaged in rehearsals for this damnation through cowardly shootings and the planting of bombs
in civilian areas. The ease with which these so-called ‘freedom fighters’ can justify their grotesquely idealised
‘guerilla warfare’, The Struggle, as they romantically call it, often
involving the agony by death of countless innocents, is a matter for study by psychiatric experts. We should
not brush these unpalatable facts under the carpet nor should we hide them for the sake of political expediency. It is dishonest
to do so.I am not a great admirer of the institution of the monarchy but the state visit to Ireland by the Queen was one of
those historic moments that drew my attention, inducing a deep warm glow of admiration. Her Majesty did in two days what peace
campaigners had been trying for many years ... she buried age-old differences in an age when we Europeans need each other
in the spirit of European friendship. It seems Ireland admires our Queen after all, with only a tiny smattering of scruffy
protesters in the background keeping the embers of ancient hatreds barely glowing in the distance. All the churches hold a
responsibility in this regard and should condemn the sectarianism from what are essentially Godless people on both sides of
the sectarian divide. We call for an end to division. We call for an end to religious hatred in both parts of Ireland and
beyond.
With people like Gerry Adams this will not be easy. Deluded bigots are not receptive to reason. They
like to justify their unreason by rationalising and distorting the facts of history ... and so it will go on but, hopefully,
diminish over the generations. The Scottish Parliament has embarked on legal sanctions against sectarian hatred expressed
in public places, in word and in song, and so it needs to be, also, in Northern Ireland. Orangemen should and will sing, The
Sash My Father Wore, but the other songs that include references to ‘taigs’ and ‘papists’
are plainly insulting and provocative. It is time to move on.We have another form of religious hatred here in Britain and
it goes under the name of Islamophobia. While the sectarianism between the Orange and the Green is more or less marginalised
in parts of Northern Ireland, Liverpool and Glasgow, the war on Islam is now global. It has become the foremost cause of every
extreme-right nutter from mad American Qur’an-burning pastors and foul-mouthed, EDL-supporting New York rabbis to the
likes of failed Question Time panellist Nick Griffin and Geert Wilders the amateur
anti-Muslim film maker. What they all have in common is that they are avowedly pro-Israel. At least, that is what they say.
The power
of the Jewish Lobby in America is legendary. This is the source of all the vile nonsense aimed at Islam which percolates throughout
the Western world.
English ‘nationalism’, in the form of the English Defence League, has adopted
the cause of Jewish supremacism, as expressed in the Zionist political philosophy. American Rabbi Nachum Shifren (right)
is an honoured guest of the EDF and speaks at their rallies, attacking Muslims in such a way that if similar sentiments were
aimed at Jews, would land the speaker in the back of a police van, charged with a heinous hate crime and subsequently imprisoned
for a very long time.
The level of religious hatred now aimed at Muslims in Britain is of unprecedented proportions and
appears to be increasing. Mosques are now targeted for arson attack, along with a barrage of hate mail. Blame for such crimes
should be placed firmly at the doors of the British National Party and the English Defence League, as much as both disingenuously
claim to be opposed only to ‘militants’ and ‘radicalised Muslim youth’.The Metropolitan Police has
been investigating a series of packages containing powder sent to several mosques around Gloucestershire, Sussex, London,
Dorset and Merseyside ... with the North London Mosque in Finsbury Park being especially marked out for abusive attack. Police
have contacted all the mosques involved with the advice to be extra careful when opening mail.
The publication,
This Is Local London, reported a hate mail campaign against The Edmonton Islamic
Centre, going on for several weeks. Tariq Chaudhri, who runs the centre, reported one particular offensive letter involving
insults to the Prophet Muhammed, accompanied by offensive drawings.
It seems that the spokesmen
of the nationalistic far-right in Britain have abandoned all pretence at being serious contenders with a set of constructive
ideas for the Britain of the future. The ‘politics’ of the far-right is now encapsulated in one sentiment ...
to focus all its hatred towards the Muslim community in Britain and to brand every Muslim, man, woman and child, as ‘terrorists’
bent on destroying the Western world.
On a recent Question Time panel, Liberal
Democrat Coalition Government minister, Norman Baker MP, answered a question from the audience on the issue of the British
Army presence in Afghanistan and the reasons for being there.Confusing Al-Qa’eda with
the Taliban, he trotted out the increasingly discredited view that the ‘terrorists’ based in Afghanistan, and
Al-Qa’eda in particular, have declared war on the entire Western world and
must therefore be opposed by military might, wherever they may be.
Baker missed out one of the
most salient points in the terrorists’ objectives. It was as if he intentionally misrepresented their cause in this
way, like the fully paid-up member of the Liberal Democrat Friends of Israel that he is.
The focus of Al-Qa’eda
and all Muslims that oppose the occupation of Arab lands, and those of the Afghans, is elsewhere ...
in Palestine. This is at the core of all Muslim ‘terrorism’, while the state terrorism of the Zionist State uses
the considerable clout of the Jewish Lobby in the United States in order to determine neo-con foreign (military) policy. The
idea of Al-Qa’eda was a response to this.
No, Mr
Baker, it is not the destruction of the entire Western World that your Muslim terrorists are hell-bent on achieving. It is
justice for the Palestinians and an end to the racist Jewish supremacist state that persecutes and torments them every day.
It murders them in cold blood, as well. Remember that! When the United States ploughs billions of dollars into the arming of
Israel, while the Palestinians do not own a single tank, then the friends of the Palestinians can only see a very one-sided,
biased process in terms of international sponsorship.Just as we see the ‘elephant in the sitting room’ approach
to the existence of Israel’s enormous arsenal of nuclear weapons while Iran is demonised for seeking to harness domestic
nuclear power under penalty of military attack. With all the lies, deception, cover-ups, disinformation exercises and the prostitution
of the entire mainstream Western press and the rest of the Western media, we who are not fooled, or easily led up the Zionist
garden path, can see very clearly that the ‘war on terror’ is a constructed false flag and an alibi for a war
against Islam itself. The far-right in Britain knows this and understands it. At first they tried to claim their modern-day
‘crusade’ is a matter of campaigning against anti-British Muslim extremists of the fundamentalist persuasion.
The English Defence League, for example, erupted onto the British political scene as a knee-jerk reaction to the poppy-burning
incident at a public military display in Luton. Personally, I have never worn a poppy and have no intention of ever doing
so, even though I am an ex-serviceman. At risk of shocking members of the British Legion and similar organisations, I regard
all wars as pointless and unnecessary. There is no such thing as a justifiable war. Only psychopaths and other mad people
enjoy the gory imagery and evil principles of warfare, while lads who joined the Army because they could not get a job in
‘Civvy Street’ die for no good reason. Employ an ex-serviceman? ... you bet I would! They are the most exploited
of any profession. They deserve our sympathy and support for that alone.Having said that, the far-right has not been slow
to pick up on the current efforts by the Establishment to glorify British involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, using the scoundrel’s
last resort, good old state ‘patriotism’ ... and scoundrels they surely are, for that.
Thatcher did it
over the Falklands when young lads, both British and Argentineans, were sacrificed on the altar of political expediency. Disreputable
tabloid papers like The Sun joined in on the patriotic fervour and it does the
same today. It also never misses an opportunity to demonise Muslims in Britain. Richard Desmond’s Daily
Express follows up the rear with the Daily Mail singing the
same song along with Melanie Philips onboard, of course ... she who puts Israel before Britain. Frenzied Islamophobia was
invented by these rags.I make no secret of my objections to the very existence of the State of Israel. It is situated in that
central region where continents meet and where it is surrounded by its mortal enemies. The Zionists were the first to expel
Arabs from Arab territory. From Palestine, in fact. We know the facts of this catastrophe, the Naqba
to Palestinians, and these facts will never go away no matter what Zionists like Melanie Philips write
in the reactionary Daily Mail. Every Muslim in the world is aware of this truth
and will never forget it. Muslims in Britain are now taking the brunt of this reaction against them, which is totally unjustified.
Their very religion is being vilified, misrepresented and blamed for imaginary evils such as this “destruction of the
entire Western world”.
No! It is our leaders in thrall to bankers that are doing this in the West today.
